Hello,
I'm new to lightjams and lighting in general. I'm having trouble figuring out how to lay out templates for the ETC Selador Vivid-R. Sorry if this seems like a no-brainer. In particular, I'm not really sure how to implement a red-orange, cyan, or indigo control given the options in the template creator menu. Also I've had some confusion regarding the Master Intensity control channel, I've seen some templates use a "fixed value" channel and some using "dimmer" channels and I'm not sure which one to use where. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi,

Open this project file to get the fixture template. With this fixture, you need to manually control the color mixing of the 7 color sources. Some more recent ETC fixtures like the Source Four LED Series 2 have a HSI mode allowing to be more easily controlled by Lightjams.

About the dimmer, it's usually a good idea to add it as a dimmer when creating the fixture template, since it gives you more control. However, for many fixtures, it makes no difference to set the dimmer at a fixed 100% and control the intensity via the color attributes instead.

You said:   >>....However, for many fixtures, it makes no difference to set the dimmer at a fixed 100% and control the intensity via the color attributes instead. <<

For example I work with ELM and Lightjams and often it is easyer and with nice results to set my Colours with ELM

....at first I thougt It will work to send both values over same SACN Channel but this was not working without disturbance.

so now I use a DMX Manager that gives me independent outputs and also I can etter handle the values from ELM and Lightjams
(they are sending now on different Sacn - Universes but on the same channels and so I can easyly merge the two target DMX Channels)

but there is one problem with the colours..... my KLS is so bright, that I must Dim it down (thats perfekt)

but my Hydrabeams have only 30Watts per Head and so sometimes the mixcolours are to dark to have a nice Beam.

Question : have you an Idea if it is possible to push the Colour HSI Output everytime to the highest able intense-output
(if I have a specific colour I want the same but with highest output-Level)

.....hope you understand what i mean.

Cheers Jürgen

Hi,

I'm not sure to understand. In Lightjams, you can dim each fixture type independently if you need to. In other words, don't only use the master intensity if it dims some fixtures too much. Each group has an intensity slider, so use it instead.

In ELM, you can also dim only some fixtures. Select them in the strip list, click edit and use the intensity slider.

Hi Mathieu what I mean....(for ELM)

say if I have the intensity at 100% it is able to create a red with the HSI -model   for (RGBW) that is only at 1% but also full at100%.

depending on the brightness of the Videopixel so is there a way that maximize this color always to the highest possible level?

as an example for RGB-Model:

if you have Red at 1% and Blue at 1%  it is the same colour than Red at 100% an Blue at 100%

Maybe he means like in LJ where you can set the Intensity to 100% and only have the Hue values change with a video background?. That way your colors are always at maximum power.

Jürgen, you should post this question in the ELM Group :)

In Lightjams to do it you would set the intensity to 50% and saturation to 100%.

There's no way to modify the colors in ELM like that. You can equalize the brightness of your fixtures by using the intensity slider as described before or you can put the different fixture types on different stages to have independent intensity levels.

it is not so important and was only a test ......normaly i I remote the intensity in ELM with lightjams and it works perfekt

i only thougt maybe there is a way to send the RGBW values of the pixels to Lightjams to manipulate them to the highest possible Value

...here the KLS is mapped from ELM .....(only the colours) ...works fine (4 big Pixel's)
