Hi
First of all, thanks for that amazing software, way easier to use for a newbie than whatever I tested to control LED matrices :)
As, I guess, a lot of people, I'm running OLA on a raspberry pi to control a LPD8806 based led strip.
Everything works fine via ArtNet, but when I try to switch to sACN, nothing appears.
I tried using da_E1.31 from David_AVD on the diychristams forum, and I'm able to control the lights with this little app. In SACNview, I don't see anything different in the data sent with da_E131 or Lightjams (expect maybe the CID of da_E131 that is just zeros, not sure that's relevant)
I tried multicasting or sending to a particular IP, nothing changes.
I'm stumped.
Any idea on where the problem might be ?
Regards

Sorry about the shitty title for this thread, I didn't pay attention before posting :/

Hi Kamel,

The first thing is to check the sACN configuration in Lightjams. Go in the View/Configuration and then select the sACN tab. You need to make sure the proper network adapter is selected and that the output universes are the ones you're expecting on your raspberry pi. Also, the output universe monitor should indicate some action.

I know another person asked a question recently about sACN/raspberry pi and OLA, and there was a problem with OLA being overloaded with more than 100 RGB leds... Maybe that's the problem here too...

Hi Mathieu
Looks like the configuration is set the right way. I don't think I have a pb on that side of things (unfortunately, would have been too easy to fix).
I'll try to check if I can make some more tests with (for example) less LEDs and such to see if the problem comes from the OLA implementation on the raspi.
I'll obviously keep you guys posted.
Regards

Hi Kamel,

Maybe you've already done that, bu can you see the E1.31 packets going out using a network sniffer like wireshark?

Hi Mat and all,
Let me first say that I love Lightjams software...it has helped me to many new things!!

So, related to this thread about using sACN and Lightjams and OLA and rPI, I recently posted in the OLA group here.
Simon (the creator of OLA) said something about LJ using malformed sACN packets.  I think he is posting here soon if not already...stay tuned!

thx!

Thanks Steve! I've fixed the problem and I'll push a Lightjams update soon.

Cheers,
Mathieu
