I need some help with scene switching in Lightjams.

Here’s my current setup:

  • I have multiple scenes (Scene1, Scene2, Scene3) created in the Scene Activation Grid.

  • Each scene has its own sources and effects.

  • I’m triggering the scenes directly from a MIDI pad (Akai style pad controller).

The triggering itself works fine — when I hit a pad, the corresponding scene activates.
The problem: Lightjams keeps the previously active scene running as well. So for example, if Scene2 is active and I hit Scene1, both run at the same time. What I need is for the newly triggered scene to be the only one active — the others should automatically turn off.

In other words, I’m looking for a way to make the scenes behave like radio buttons or mutually exclusive: pressing one pad activates one scene and deactivates the others.

I tried adjusting the Master Intensity and different source mappings, but that only affects the brightness or keeps scenes layered. I can’t find how to make the Scene Activation Grid exclusive.

👉 Question: How can I configure Lightjams so that pressing a MIDI pad switches to a scene exclusively (turning off all the other scenes)?

Thanks a lot for any guidance!

Hi,

Using one source per scene is good but what I suspect from your screenshot is that the default activation slider value is set to 100% when no sources is sending power to it. So make sure to manually set the activation slider to 0% since it's the default value when no sources is controlling it.
