Interesting questions here, I am not looking to build a full on video wall per say (I am sure there are better tools for that) but I was wondering if there is any way to work something like this into lightjams:

Its basically a 32x32 LED matrix and I wanted to incorporate a few of these into my project to show some different animations and color fades. Would this be possible? Not even sure what interface to use to hook it up to the computer.

Lightjams supports up to 64 DMX universes - 10880 RGB LEDs. To build LED arrays, you need to use LED controllers that will convert Artnet and sAcn to the proper protocol for your LEDs. Look at this link for some LED controller suggestions: http://www.lightjams.com/sacn.html#sACNControllers

For larger LED installations (up to 512 DMX universes), look at my other software for LED mapping called ELM - https://www.enttec.com/?main_menu=Products&pn=70581. You can control the playback via Lightjams.

Alright a follow up on this one, as I have a few new projects. Checked out ELM and I am still not entirely sure if I can do the following with either software:

-I have a few LARGE led panels that currently run off LINSN or ColorLight receiving cards, they work via a DVI signal by default so its best for video from a laptop. The cards also both appear to support the ability to stream data via gigE so that the software could talk to it that way as well.
-Can the software output video, as in, to use what I have connect up the LED display via DVI and then create patterns in lightjams that are set up for the right size and resolution?
-It looks like Madrix can work with the ColorLight receiving cards via ethernet, but the info is very sparse.

Questions? Thoughts?

For video output, you're better off using a VJ software than a lighting software. Look at Resolume, VDMX, Modul8, etc. Lightjams is made to control lighting fixtures via DMX. Lightjams doesn't have a video output capability but ELM does (you can put a media window on your 2nd screen to output DVI/HDMI/VGA, depending on your computer's video card outputs).
