I am watching your work closely.  I am waiting for some more examples of integrating various model options with your framework.  I do not have a lot of time to experiment right now with linking different models.

We need a very light framework for re-engineering existing applications while still retaining our legacy code base.  I am also interested in Framework1 but it is no-longer a light framework.

I'd like to hear more from people on what they'd like to see in the examples. Currently, I've upgraded sample1 has been upgraded to show better model integration. You'll see that in the next update.

The next version of the framework, 0.4.3, has a lot of nice changes. I'll post more once I'm done. 0.4.3 is done, but the samples are not yet. Sorry to keep people waiting. I'm close.

Uggh... that's what happens when you edit a bit too much and get tired of editing your reply. :-)

Sample1 has been upgraded to show much better model integration is what I meant to say. I'm just cleaning things up a bit before you get the update.

I asked Wally about this off-list and he said it comes down to lines
of code. LightFront is smaller than FW/1 - he's trying to introduce a
framework via skunkworks and it's easier to hide a 300 line CFC than a
1,000 line CFC! Very true! :)

Brian has also added a comment on his blog post which talked about FW/
1, clarifying that FW/1 does not depend on a bean factory - when he
said "ties into", he simply meant it "supports" a bean factory. He
also clarified that both LightFront and FW/1 rely on Application.cfc
which may make integration with legacy code harder than his blog post
may have implied. Brian has plans to make LightFront more compatible
with legacy / non-Application.cfc apps at some point, and that fits in
with the switch-controller feature as well.

Thanks for clarifying these points on the list, Sean.

I've got a new release in the works, but I'm trying to juggle the code in the samples and testing them in various CF and open source engines along with some other work that takes priority. Sorry for the delays.

However, if anyone wants the 0.4.3 core, I could probably post it by adding a 0.4.3 branch to SVN, if people would prefer. 0.4.2 was a very minor renaming update that wasn't worth applying separately. The 0.4.3 core is functional.

I have some release notes that are not complete as well that I can add to the branch.  Sound good?
