HiEveryone,
I am very new to Arduino and Linux.
I installed IDE,
I connected Arduino Uno to my laptop,
I launched IDE,
I opened Blinking sketched.
I tried to upload it to Arduino however I got Error Message:
Serial port not selected.
Board at null is not available
One cable is used by a functional Microphone.
The other one by a functional Printer.
I know about that issue and I am highly alerted.
Maybe you are right.
I will try with a third one the sooner.
Disconnect then plug back your Arduino couple times. You can try different USB ports, just in case.
Then immediately use the dmesg command.
Copy the last few lines (or whole last page) and paste it here.
OK, so it is ATmega16u2, it normally runs a usb-serial firmware, but can be reprogrammed.
Here is a quick way to check if this chip is working and can connect to the PC:
Connect the Arduino.
Briefly short the RESET and GND pins marked with red in this picture
13581014 454 KB
Check for activity with dmesg and/or lsusb.
If nothing gets detected, then you have a hardware issue. It may be the USB ports, cables, board traces, or the chip itself...

Dave Lacey owns South Coast Tours (SCT), a tour operating business that offers boat, kayak, and snorkeling tours, as well as surf lessons. Dave has been one of the most generous individuals to the TOPAZ/JASPER projects, never hesitating to loan us wetsuits and/or kayaks and allowing us to use his office and storage areas every day. He has also delivered excellent kayak paddle & safety instruction to the field teams over the last two years. Dave has truly become a vital partner during the Port Orford field seasons. It has been such a pleasure to be able to learn from and work with him, as well as see his business grow each year. Even though I will not be leading the project in Port Orford anymore, I am excited to continue my working relationship with Dave through obtaining important photo identification and sighting data of gray whales in the area when the GEMM Lab team is not there.
I will miss being the field project lead of the TOPAZ and JASPER projects. I will miss kayaking every other day and spying on gray whales from the cliff site. I will miss having the opportunity to work closely with and train a new crop of aspiring marine scientists. I will miss my daily interactions with Tom, Dave, Mike, Tara, and many more individuals, when I do not go to Port Orford for six weeks next summer. I will cherish all the memories I have amassed over my last four summers in Port Orford for a very long time. Most of all, I will always be grateful to the gray whales that brought me back every summer and who (in a way) made all those memories happen.
If you were at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY on Saturday night, March 30, 2024, at 8:45pm you witnessed a great performer light up the stage and reclaim his status as one of the more dynamic acts touring today.
The band interspersed six new songs with eleven of their bigger hits from their previous eight albums in a way that flowed for the entire two-hour and fifteen-minute set. Grey was generous with the spotlight (he featured every musician), his voice (which seemed to benefit from alternating sips of throat-coating tea and whisky), and his spirit, as he preached to the audience that every moment of each of our lives has brought us to this exact time and place and there is no place he would rather be then building community with all of us; and although that may sound trite, it felt sincere and special.
The evening kicked off with blues-influenced guitarist/singer Judith Hill. A long-time backup singer, she seemed buttoned up tight in a long, prim, black dress and face-hiding hat, but let it rip with her powerful voice and guitar licks. She is supporting JJ Grey and Mofro on their tour with a few dates of her own interspersed.
We stopped by The Grey House Caf in Port Orchard, Washington yesterday for their tea service. The cafe serves breakfast and lunch and when we arrived at 11 am for our reservation there were just a few people there. By the time we left, the place was nearly packed.
The scones were crazy good, and the homemade strawberry butter was amazing. And those mini fruit cups with whip cream, seriously, it just goes to show you that 2 strawberries sliced correctly and 10 blueberries with a little whip on top makes for a wonderful presentation.

Debbie Macomber is my favorite author. Her books are wonderful. She has several series of books and some Christian non-fiction. Every year she chooses a word to focus on kind of like you and your yearly goals. Her Christmas books are my favorites!
I have never left a comment before, but I must as I live just outside of Port Orchard. I have gone to the Grey House when it was pink and every time it is always spot on. I think my 11 year old daughter and I will be having a date there very soon.
Sorry to add more: I had the pleasure of chatting with Debbie a few times at her yarn shop across the parking lot from the Grey House before it closed. She is just as charming and witty and nice as you would think she would be. I very very rarely buy books but I will buy hers as she has given so much to our community.
Debbie Macomber books are light and easy reading. Good stories and no blood filled murders! I love getting them from the library. I would be happy to support her establishment if I am ever in Port Orchard. Just a cool name anyway. Port Orchard. ?
The Cedar Cove drama series based on her books is on Netflix. The film locations they used ( filmed in BC, not Port Orchard) are gorgeous! I will have to check out The Grey House Cafe -thanks for the review. ?
We started going to (it used to be called) the Doll House probably 20 years ago when my daughter was young. it was (and still is) an awesome place for a mommy/child special lunch. Their apple dumplings were always THE BEST! I hope they still make them!
I have blue coaxial ports in almost every room in my house. What the heck are they for? Are these regular cable jacks? Maybe I am confused since cat5e jacks are also blue colored? To add to the confusion, some of the cable jacks in my house are grey, not blue.
There's no difference between the colors. In locations with lots of different AV sources, different colored connectors are used to differentiate between sources. I'm guessing one installer had a pouch full of blue connectors, and another installer had gray.
The connectors in your home may have come from different manufacturers, or different times in history. So there may indeed be a difference in quality, and/or construction. This, however, has nothing to do with the color of the connector.
The blue is just the connector. It looks like your house is wired for cable or dish. The dish network guy who wired my house a couple of years ago used a blue connector, a green, and two grays... They are all channeled to the same connection and the colors mean nothing unless there is some secret masonic code that I am missing. Your cat5e I am sure is in the light blue because it is a popular color for consumers and one of two colors (other is yellow) that is kept in stock at most stores in large strands.
The blue and orange RG-6 barrel connectors in the wall plates are swept tested to 3GHz where some of the other (clear, white, etc.) that come with most wall plates you see on the walls are not tested above 750 MHz and will not be guaranteed to pass signals used by satellite providers, or MoCA devices.
Kiwi Electronic Recliner and Swivel Glider in Eco-Performance Fabric with USB port Water Repellent & Stain Resistant - Performance Grey Eco-Weave is backordered and will ship as soon as it is back in stock.
The SLX Series ports are the original easy drive on/roll off port that changed industry standards by switching to an independent wheel system rather than stiff roller system. The SLX series ports are still the envy of the industry for their ease of use and versatility.
The SLX6 PWC port is designed to integrate with our Wave Armor floating dock system and can also be installed as a stand-alone system or connect together with other floating dock brands and structures.
The CAT 6A patch panel is available in this 12 port version. It offers sturdy design by its 1.5mm galvanic cold rolled steel. Perfect for 10" cabinet mounting. The fully shielded RJ45 sockets provide an optimal stability for your cables with best performances. The patch panel applies to 802.3at/af PoE standard. It is shielded electromagnetically and offers lost and interruption free forwarding of your data in your network. The 360 degree shielding at the contact points makes sure every single point of consilidation is shielded perfectly.
