You won't be familiar with Protheon's intended size if you don't play Destiny 2, but from the player's perspective the top of his head should be somewhere around the bottom of that glowing ring on the wall. Check out this video for a look at him at his proper size: He's a big boy, but he sure ain't that big.

Developer Bungie said the upcoming Beyond Light expansion will shrink Destiny 2's install size by 30 to 40 per cent. Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, including all updates, is currently 120GB on PlayStation 4, 111GB on Xbox One and 95GB on PC. After Beyond Light comes out, Destiny 2 will weigh in at between 59GB and 71GB, depending on the platform.
In a post on Bungie.net, Destiny engineering director David Aldridge explained this reduced install size was made possible due to culling unused or replaced content, install size optimisations, and moving some content to the Destiny Content Vault (a decision that has sparked much debate within the Destiny community). "These improvements should also help us control install size better in the coming years," Aldridge said.
Bungie isn't the only developer to recently announce a reduced install size. Earlier this month, Digital Extremes said it intends to free up at least 15GB of space when it comes to Warframe's install size.
Video game install sizes are of course a hot topic. We've seen some huge games weigh in this generation (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, I'm looking at you), and there's concern those PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S SSDs are going to fill up fast.
Back to Destiny 2, and Bungie said its new faster builds should help the developers issue fixes faster than before, especially when it comes to game-breaking bugs, and it should reduce its overall ship pipeline depth, which in turns means the developers can work on Destiny releases closer to their ship dates. The benefit of this is Bungie can react to fresher information.
Aldridge provided an example: "... historically each of our seasons has had to get deep into production before the preceding season launched, preventing us from reacting to learnings from that preceding season. These tech improvements should give us one to two more weeks of flexibility on a seasonal scale, helping us pivot more quickly in some cases."

Destiny 2: Lightfall is less than a day away but players can already start the preload process. The amount of space you need to download Lightfall will differ from platform to platform, but anticipate massive file sizes and a lengthy download time depending on your connection speed.
The following table offers information for the Destiny 2 install size and how much space you need to actually begin downloading Lightfall as part of the preload process. Check your storage device to ensure you have the necessary space.
Some may notice that the space needed to download Lightfall is larger than the Destiny 2 install size. This is especially noticeable for the Steam and EGS versions. You do not need to have 230+ GB of storage set aside at all times, just during the download process. Once it is done, Destiny 2 and the Lightfall expansion will only take up the space listed in the left column.

A long life means different things to creatures of different sizes and metabolic rates. For a shrew it may be one to three years; for an elephant, 40; for a sauropod dinosaur, perhaps 60. Yet for reasons that experts are still debating, many living animals seem to have roughly the same number of heartbeats over a lifespan.
Shrews are among the smallest living mammals, and they have among the highest heart rates of any animal: about 1,000 beats a minute. Compare that to a young blue whale, at about 20 beats a minute, or 50 times slower.
Experts aren't sure why big animals live longer than small ones. It's clear that size makes big animals safer from predators, but is there something more? The internal engines of big animals "run" more slowly than those of little ones: for example, some shrews' hearts beat as much in a minute as an elephant's heart in half an hour.
The maximum recorded human lifespan--currently upwards of 120 years--is much longer than the maximum predicted for an animal of our size. Even average human lifespan is unexpected; scaling equations suggest a human-sized animal should live between 20 and 25 years.
Not too long ago, a Redditor and Destiny 2 fan with the online handle "Who_is_Rem" noticed that the term "Raid Lair" which had previously been on the Black Armory DLC's content calendar had been renamed to "Raid". This brought about speculation on the game's official subreddit as to whether or not the forthcoming activity would actually be a full-sized raid. Responding to the matter, Bungie's Community Manager, Chris "Cozmo23" Shannon, stated that the new raid will be "larger than the lairs, but smaller than Last Wish."
Further on down in the Reddit thread, other users chimed in to say that the entries in Destiny 2's Collections and Triumphs still make references to it being a "Raid Lair" and not specifically a "Raid". What's more is that since Cozmo23 didn't explicitly state that the Black Armory DLC's endgame activity will actually be a full-sized raid, the question still lingers as to exactly what terminology should be attached to the content to describe it.
Taking all of this into account, it will be interesting to see if Bungie eventually chooses to step forward and openly declare the Black Armory DLC's raid as being "full-sized", or any iteration thereof to placate fans. However, considering the fact that Cozmo prefaced his aforementioned statement on the matter with, "Raids come in many sizes", there's a good chance that players won't find out the precise scale and scope until the raid itself is released. At any rate, whether it's a "Raid" or a "Raid Lair", most, if not all Guardians will have their eyes fixed on the race for World First.
Bungie shared details regarding the install size of the Final Shape with the last This Week in Destiny blog before the expansion hits, letting players know all the key information they need to know ahead of the release date.
If you have auto-downloads enabled, the update might become available to certain users as soon as June 1. If you don't know how to turn on auto-updates on your PlayStation console, here's how to do it:
If you're concerned about the large size of the Steam download, it's because the game needs to be downloaded twice. Yes, even if you already have it installed, attempting to preload The Final Shape will require the full Destiny 2 install size to be downloaded again. The upside is that once this process is finished, the game will shrink in size, freeing up some storage.
