Folks,

I just placed my pre-order for Steps in Scala by Christos KK Loverdos: http://www.cup.cam.ac.uk/us/catalogue/catalogue.asp?isbn=9780521747585.  Christos has been a very helpful, knowledgeable member of the Scala community for as long as I can remember.  I expect that his book captures his tone and skills.  So, I'm pre-ordering my copy today... then I'll count down the days until October when I get the book and learn more about Scala!

Thanks,

David

Yes, the site is failing all over the place.

Attempted to order, it emptied my cart and logged me out.

Logged back in and got an app error.

Also, no way to delete my account.

Kind of disappointing.

Hi David,

Thank you for your kind words. This is not a book I have written alone. Apostolos and I have worked hard to make a book that appeals to the readers and tickles some neurons :-)

We hope we will all enjoy reading it and learning stuff.
(Yes, I think even the authors learn things when reading their books)

Is there going to be a sample chapter available?

Great! Looking forward to reading this book.

I was wondering whether any new Lift book(or an updated edition for
the existing one) is being published any time soon.

I am writing "Lift in Action" to be published on Manning in Q3, possibly Q4. It takes a very different approach than the Apress book.

Cheers, Tim

I am hoping to have an MEAP ready by mid-April (for Scala Days). At that point you can follow along with me as I write more and more content, giving feedback through forums and such.

Cheers, Tim
