Turning of cookies breaks Comet ... again

Hi,
A while ago I added the support for URL rewriting when cookies are
turned of in the container so that things would correctly work when
jssessionid is part of the url. After that this was broken a few times
but I fixed it. Not, after quite some time, I'm back in the place
where it seems broken. I have a simple Clock Comet and when turn off
cookies in jetty the page reloads over and over again (I use FireFox
on Ubuntu). I'll try to fix this but in the mean time I want to ask
you if you've seen the same behaviour.
If you already have the answer would save me a bit of time.
