Lift chat room?

Is there any kind of chat room (gitter, Slack, IRC, etc)?

There is a gutter channel, but I don't know if folks still use it. I, myself, haven't logged in for a long while. If we had a Slack instance I'd be more likely to lurk there since we use Slack at work.

And by "gutter", you mean "gitter". There has been little or no
activity there in the last three years.

Would we get actual chat on Slack? It looks like a free instance would
be easy to set up, and I'd be willing to do it if folks were going to
use it.

Slack is nicer than gitter, but free is nice only if you don't need to access historical messages that much. Maybe it's ok for this.
