Microsoft Word has a built-in spellchecker for all your important documents and assignments. To find it, click the "Review" tab, click the down arrow next to "Spelling and Grammar," and then choose "Spelling." If you're ever unsure about a spelling, Word will also point out any errors with a red squiggly line. Grammar is also automatically checked and indicated by a blue or green line. This wikiHow teaches you how to do a spelling and grammar check in Microsoft Word using your Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

I mean really, Chrome, FF, Word, Word online, Edge, all seem to spell check fine, with slight differences, but man, my EU's are noticing how un-acceptable the spell checker is. A user showed me numerous examples. When writing a sentence it will detect some words as mis-spelled, so he showed me "becuase", spelled wrong, When he right clicked the auto correction was one word, "Case"! So then he went on to manually correct the spelling, without deleting the word, just correcting it, and the spell checker kept it underlined with red even though the spelling had been corrected. I was unable to reproduce the error by mis-spelling the same word. But I started poking at the issue in y Windows 10, fully patched Teams client, and noticed the same issue randomly with other mis-spelled words. Lots of users are noticing this, and even outside my org.

The spelling and grammar checker may return an error message about the default language or say "Spelling and grammar check is complete" without flagging any errors. You may not receive any message but may notice the tool isn't functioning.

Artificial Intelligence spelling and grammar checkers are not new, they have been around for many years in programs such as Ginger and Grammarly. Ginger and Grammarly also offer free 'add-ins' for Office applications.

I encountered annoying problem recently: my spell checker in Microsoft WORD disappeared. I noticed a few misspellings and wondered why they weren't caught with the red squiggly line under the word automatically, and then I started getting in the habit of going to the "Review Tab" and selecting the "Spelling and Grammar" button to review the document. This worked fine, and as long as I kept the document open, the spell checking would continue to work. However, each time I opened WORD to create a new document, the spell checker would be off by default and I would have to remember to turn it on manually again. F7 turns on spelling and grammar.

HI If you leave user interface as " Default - English(USA)" and or locale setting as " Default English (UK) " spell check wont work. Choose from the drop down menus so it just says " English (USA) " and " English(UK)" and not the "default" bit then restart LIbreoffice and checker will work.
