The switch for Bluetooth disappeared. I uninstalled it in the device manager and scanned for hardware changes, but it didn't reinstall. I manually reinstalled the drivers from intel's website and it still won't show up. Under services there are three Bluetooth related items all running on automatic. When I run the Bluetooth trouble shooter it says my computer doesn't have Bluetooth. My computer says everything is up to date and so are the drivers.

Thanks, in your case the restore may be what solved the problem. But still I gained great insight from your comment. You are the one who pointed me to the right direction(BIOS) where I found Bluetooth unchecked. I enabled it and installed latest drivers. Hurray! I now have Bluetooth.

Thanks so much for the update. My Bluetooth connection just disappeared.
What I did was to go F12 > BIOS > WIRELESS. Both my WLAN and Bluetooth is checked.
I just unchecked and checked again > APPLY.

I had noticed that my bios diagnostics said that no Bluetooth was installed. So I assumed my Bluetooth internal device must have had a hardware failure. But I was pleasantly surprised when this approach of using the restore old settings in bios fixed it.

This is supper. I did not know that Bluetooth can be enabled or disabled from Bios setup utility. I found the check box for Bluetooth unchecked. I ticked it and immediately the computer restarted, dell support assistant suggested driver update which I did and my Bluetooth worked immediately. Prior to this I had tried windows as well as dell troubleshooter which both showed I was running the lates drivers. Windows showed that Bluetooth is not available on this device while dell said the machine is out of warranty hence they cannot assist. Thanks man.

Researching various forums, it seems the issue boils down to the Emulation that the KVM switch does, in order to fool the rest of the servers that you are NOT connected to, into thinking a physical mouse and keyboard is connected.

If you can disable the emulator functionality - done via hotkey on an Aten KVM - then you may be able to get the receiver to work. I plugged a USB hub into the mouse port (after disabling the emulator), plugged in the unifying receiver and hey presto, it worked.

Directly connecting the mouse to the computer (in my case a Dell OptiPlex 7010) the issue is not present. When I moved my Logitech Wireless Combo set (K350 & M705) over to the Dell OptiPlex 7010 (from my work computer), both the keyboard and the mouse functioned properly on either USB port (keyboard or mouse port). As such, it appears to be an issue with that specific model of mouse.

Attached is a list of keyboard and mice that were tested during the development process of the product back in 2007. Obviously, more keyboard and mice (including wireless I/O devices) have been used in the field since the release of the product but this is something we tested for many years ago when the product was released.

My pleasure! As a follow-up, we have produced a firmware update that has resolved this issue. The firmware is currently going through QA. Once the firmware is officially released, I will provide an update with a URL link to the firmware files/upgrade procedures.

OK, so I bought an All-In-One PC from a wanker who told me it had Bluetooth. It doesn't have Bluetooth. I remember on my old PC I had a USB/Bluetooth Adapter that I could plug in to my PC's USB port and the PC was then able to do Bluetooth magics with other Bluetooth-enabled devices. However, that adapter no longer works (broken) and I've been to Dick Smith, JB, Harvey Norman, Coles, K-Mart, etc and nobody sells anything useful anymore so now I'm wondering if I can plug my phone into the PC's USB port and use the phone as an 'adapter' for Bluetooth, thus enabling the PC to have above said Bluetooth magics. Is this possible, and how would I go about doing this?

Technically this is impossible, since the phone won't allow this kind of access to the bluetooth-hardware on it. However, if you have a special use-case there might be a solution in the shape of an app for your smartphone that handles it (I can help you look if you tell me this use-case and the phone you use)

I experienced the same issue, after a hot boot switch from Windows to Ubuntu, Bluetooth failed to work. I followed the Ubuntu bug report here, and Bluetooth fully functions. Use the following commands:

Those were the steps I followed and it worked, but maybe just changing the version of python would have worked. When I try to go back to python 3.7, bluetooth stops working again. I don't know how to solve this, I just stopped using version 3.7.

After some researching I found this bug report. The bug reported by this link is similar to what happened to my system. This occurs when I do a hot reboot from Windows to Ubuntu and the solution that worked for me is to do a cold reboot whenever I use bluetooth device on Windows.

So I am inclined to believe that the Linux Bluetooth driver puts the Bluetooth hardware in a certain state that persists across hot reboots but doesn't affect the Windows driver from successfully interacting with the Bluetooth hardware.

I had this same problem after updating Kubuntu to 20.04, tried reinstalling several times to no avail. Then I noticed that the bluetooth didn't fail (White LED) until I logged-in, after some testing it turned out that disabling "Enable bluetooth integration" inside bluetooth settings and reloading the driver with:

I have a Mouse Logitech M535.Was working fine in 18.04.After upgrading to 20.04 started to have random issues.Works fine for around 10-15 secs and then disconnects.Only reconnects after a restart. I only have Ubuntu (not dual or Windows).

My solution was:How can I disable USB autosuspend on Ubuntu 18.04?Although the USB autosuspend is a feature designed to preserve battery life, its' 18.04 default is "enabled", whether or not the device Ubuntu is being installed on even has a battery.

Further, in order for autosuspend to be more help than harm, it appears that the USB device's driver needs to support autosuspend. Hence all the posts- yours' included- seeking to disable the "feature".

The sed expression just prepends "usbcore.autosuspend=-1" with a trailing space after the initial quote mark to ensure it always matches whatever your particular GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT options look like.

In my case, one poor connection with Spotify (I was in the other room) had disabled Bluetooth with no Bluetooth device on the settings menu or hcitool dev. None of the workarounds worked for me. I uninstalled Spotify and everything is fine.

I faced the same problem with my HP pavilion x360 (dual boot with windows 10). All I did was to log into windows 10 and update my bluetooth driver from HP website and then when I restarted the system to Ubuntu 20.04 my problem was fixed.

I did install solaarin the messages unify was discovered. So I did remove the keyboard and mouse from the solaar (even though they were connected) and afterwards I did add the devices again and everything started working.

I work around this by cold booting, as in powering off from PC's source button (taking electricity off the mother board).Just shutting down / (re)starting and having the motherboard LEDs on didn't work.

I had the same problem in my hp laptop with LTS 20.04 what I did, and what did work was:1. Go to settings in your LTS -> about -> find updates -> firmware updates, and patch the OS.if this does not works:- having a dual boot with another OS: Go to your other OS (I've made it with windows), you must to pair a Bluetooth device using the OS wizard, after that, go back to your Ubuntu and run:

Hey HP, I have a HP Prodesk 600 G2 where I don't know where to plug in the bluetooth cable. I have tried to install the wifi card's manufacturer driver where Wi-Fi works fine but no sign of Bluetooth working.
There are 2 connector (pic as below) where i tried to plug in the Bluetooth Cable.

What is your wifi+bluetooth combo adapter. All your images show very different thing and normally no antenna on your machine does it had wifi+BT before ? If no, you have to add antennas for new adapter. For example

The Dell OptiPlex 7010 SFF is a pre-built business desktop computer first released in 2012. Although more than five years old, it is still a viable solutionfor home and office. The motherboard is using the Q77 chipset and supports 3th gen Intel Coreprocessor, 32GB of DIMM DDR3-1333/1600 memory, and a low profile GPU. You can even make a gaming PC form this machine with a proper GPU upgrade.

Dell OptiPlex 7010 SFF is a Small form factor computer. The Small Form Factor (SFF) is an in-between model. It has less space for the larger form factors (Mid tower, Mini tower, and Desktop), but it is still easily upgradable. Usually the SFF come with 2x PCIe slots, so fitting a low profile graphics card is possible.

Yes, you can upgrade Dell OptiPlex 7010 SFF for gaming with better processors, graphics card, memory, and storage devices. However, like many other business pre-built PCs, this model may have proprietary elements like the power supply, the chassis or the power connector, which can make it difficult for usersto install aftermarket PSUs to support better GPUs. You can also find that there is space constrains inside the chassis, making it difficult to accommodete larger GPU to boost the gaming performance.

No, Dell OptiPlex 7010 SFF does not meet the Windows 11 hardware requirements. According to Windows 11 specification, all models with Intel 7th Gen CPU or older are not officially supported. Processor with TPM 2.0 and a UEFI Secure boot BIOS is also required in order to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11 through Windows Update.
