Butmy question is because I want to play something that doesn't require me or ALLOW me to just Blade Storm through a ton of enemies at once that's too simple, I wanna play a new class with a little more complexity and fun.
are you kidding me ? really no offense but you are at T1, you have not tried a single set, not a single combination of build, did you even try t 6 now in game, it's a breeze for many players , try you DH at GR 40,50+ you will have enough of complexity and fun , thrust me
I haven't tried a set because I only have one 2 piece of a 6 piece set and its an elite kill set. And you are wrong I have tried different combo's of builds. My build is basically Nats Set with hatred regeneration and CD reduction, and yes I have tried t6, its a joke, my level of gear cannot even handle t6. I never said DH wasn't complex i've played it since launch but I lost interest way before RoS came out.
hardest to progress doesnt mean hard to play.. u play wd pet build u will find it very hard to break through gr 43 without smk / DoD ancient, unlike dh any 2h bow as long as its ancient + 12 disc maximum u will be fine.
I mean no offense friend, but your build is not "Basically Nats". You don't have the belt, you don't have any of the Nat's pieces, you're using Elemental Arrow and Vengeance, and you're using the wrong runes on Companion and Evasive Fire. If your build is "basically Nats" then your build is "basically M6 or UE" as well.
Honestly your best bet to quickly gear up is to join a T6 public rift game and leech. Let the other people kill it for you. Spend shards on slots that will reward you with whatever set you want to build for, etc. etc. etc. Once you have a set in place (any DH set really) you should be able to immediately jump to the high 30s solo grifting, and if you pick up your Focus and Restraint rings along the way you should be able to jump to the mid 40s, all with overall crappy rolls on your set pieces simply because the set bonuses are so incredibly powerful they make up for it.
I didn't mean "basically Nats" by having Pieces, some of nats set bonus's are provided by some of my pieces like CD reduction on rain of vengeance via hatred usage, i don't get a buff from RoV like you Do with 6pc Nat. So RoV just gets to be used a lot. I use the Bat because my CD reduction also works on it as well, i have a great supply of Hatred, its nice.
Meh. Bad advice would be telling you to sit around and play in T1. Just the other day I was running a public rift with a DH who was only paragon level 30 or so. Crappy gear, effectively worthless, died often, but at the end of the game he walked away with three pieces of Nats and 2 pieces of Marauders that I didn't need.
But alas, if that's bad advice, then so be it. I'll stand by it. Game's terribly boring imo sub T6 (and to be perfectly clear, T6 is boring but you do what you got to do to get greater rift keystones)
I was going to offer to do runs with you as well, but I'm not a god like Necroman. At most I would be able to carry you through low 40s if you wanted (or just t6 speed rifts). You can add me @ redriot#1656 if you want. Also, it would be on a barb - so no loot sharing useful gear for your DH.
I don't think a single class is harder than another. There are builds within classes that will require specific skills. Others not so much. Progression has little to do with how much damage you do either. Look at the support builds, they progress very far into grifts without doing much damage.
That being said, WD has some very tough builds. The nerf to Spirit Walk has ruined some of their builds. The Jade was always very squishy, but did a lot of damage if you could get the keystrokes down. But most feel it isn't worth doing if you die. I tried the Jade build, didn't like it much. But the Karnevil build was a lot of fun. I haven't tried since the Zuni set went 6 piece. Plus you can get the little man's finger for extra damage.
So picking a class probably isn't what you should be looking to do. I prefer looking at builds to see if I like the playstyle. That being said, I keep going back to DH. It's just fun for me. I like bashing monsters in the face. Crusader is my next favorite probably because you can vary your style a lot by swapping out gear. While sets do play a role with crusader, having a couple of items equipped will change the playstyle from using shields or hammer.
spirets RIP...you were asking for help we were there....team lootshare 50+-60+ are your friends...to gear......with seasons theres no shortage of gg players loking for get into 65s. and many of us here to help you....most of the group for diablofans arent casual players...and if they are i/we try to be best they can be....except some run cows 3 days later...., dont share t6 cow rift and run and test useless gems......if you want to hit leaderboards....and shitshoot 50+ i think u shud look outside the box...stick in t4 in seasons...because seasonal isnt about competing or anything.....theres no secret firebombs/zombie bears and rapid fire dh that will do anything but die and do no dps...vanillas teached us that!
When it comes to how much gear dependant they are - i have really shitty WD items and in terms of consistency and simplicity of play it still outperforms pretty much everything imo (i dont give a fuck about spending a week fishing for one rift, i evaluate the classes/builds by what rift they can do 90+% of the time). The same goes for barb/monk which can do 45 consistently with shitty gear that i have while with DH with which i have the best gear overall its still possible to not do 45 if i get some retarded rift. Crusader/wiz are just behind DH in that regard.
I currently use a Wizard for grinding inferno at mp5 to comfortably grind exp and items. This is relatively fast but sometimes (i'm guessing due to gear) I can run into problems that will hinder the speed of my grinding.
On low MPs, archon wizard is the fastest for xp farming. They can (as of 1.08) keep up permanent archon and roll through hordes of monsters. They are also relatively cheap to set up as you can get a 150k dps archon wizard for 10-15m that can roll through mp2 in no time. For higher MPs, you'll have to swap to a CM build, but those are way more expensive to gear up than building a decent archon wizard.
On higher MPs, the best/fastest xp farming is barbarians using the tornado/ww setup. Barbs have the best survivability on higher MP due to the fact that they are the only class that can get life steal on the belt and also they have a passive that grants 3% life steal. Also, their perma WoTB means they are completely immune to crowd control, which is absolutely necessary on higher MPs. WoTB is actually pretty bad on low MPs because you kill monsters so fast its hard to generate the amount of fury required to keep it permanently up. However, their gear is super expensive and it will cost 200+m to set up a barb that can handle mp7+ with ease.
Monks can build a tempest rush + wave of light build that can farm quite fast, this build requires 4 piece innas (to make sweeping wind cost next to nothing) as well as additional spirit regen gear to maximize wave of light spam. Its quite possible to get enough spirit regen for perm tempest rush, the trick is to use a slow attack weapon (skorn is perfect for this build). WoL becomes less useful at higher MPs due to increasingly higher monster health, but well geared monks can still farm quite fast (as is the case with every class).
This all comes down to how much gold you have. If you can afford it, barbs farm the fastest, but their gear is the most expensive. Monks are relatively cheap to gear due to one with everything, and decent int wizard gear is the cheapest to find.
Here are my views.Everything is both build and coin purse dependent. If you play the "gold" way to steal a phrase from game of thrones the best character, I agree, is the WWBarb. That being said my WWbarb dies quite often on MP 5 even with the high life steal afforded to him. All my gear has good resist, high strength, I'm packing a 2M Skorn with only 1250 damage and but 5% life steal on top. what I cannot afford is similar or lower quality gear with decent vitality. I could build another MP7 witch doctor for the cost of upgrading one or two pieces currently. 25K life with the lifsteal of a WWbarb means my health goes from almost empty (if I'm lucky) to full and back again 10 times in the space of a single fight.
My top pick is the Witchdoctor. Since I earned things the "Iron" way refusing to put real dollars into the auction house. I have a solid zombie bears build which can easily do MP6 for farming. MP7 with some difficulty. I sniped some good deals but it probably cost me 15-20M to build. Gear for a 0Zombie dog build is so expensive you might as well forget about it. The witch doctor I find is a good blend of skills. Grasp of the dead allows for a degree of crowd control, even against elite and rare packs. Flaming skulls lets you long range single foes (how I managed to, slowly but surly, kill uber Magda and the skeleton king. Zombie bears is the main damage dealer and lets you take down large mobs or focus them on rare packs or elites and the fights don't go on for too long. Importantly it can be spammed (with good gear) before the attacking mob has a chance to land a single blow. Spirit walk has a rune that lets you do massive damage to any creature you pass through. With a weapon that does good life steal this can be used like a full restore, and can be used a couple times a fight, as well as breaking locking effects. The Gargantuan acts as a second meat shield, is tougher than the templar and has a power attack which usefully periodically stuns foes. Including act bosses and mini-bosses. All in all the witchdoctor isn't perfect against any one foe. But I have yet to run into a foe I couldn't take down without too much trouble using some combo of skills. (Without having to switch skills out)Oh and haunt makes boss fights as you climb to 60 much much easier. Be warned though. The build tops out at MP8 unless you have bottomless pockets.
