Hi All,
Quick question regarding REDCap: can we change the record ID? For example: change AB001 to 001
If yes, how do I do it?

Hi Ning,

You will have to make sure you have user rights to "View & Edit" if a DE form or "Edit survey responses" if a survey under Data Entry Rights.

Access the DE form/survey via the "Record Status Dashboard" or "Add/Edit Records" links on the left hand side. If you have multiple instruments in the project, the Record ID will be in the first instrument of the project. If a survey, you will need to click on the "Edit Response" button in the pink square box at the top of the page before being able to edit the record. The Record ID is the first field and you will see "(To rename this record, modify the value immediately below.)" and a second Record ID field underneath it where you can change the value to whatever you want.

Hi Guys just to add on this, I disabled autonumbering for my recordID and i want to create my own ID i.e 0102S1 0102S2 0102S3 etc, can I do this? and if hes how?

If you disabled auto numbering, then when you click Add/Edit Records you should see a text field where you can enter whatever you want.

Hi, I am having problem with Record ID field in a questionnaire survey. It supposed to be not visible but participants can see when they click on the survey link. I designed and run many surveys through REDCap and have never had this problem. Can anyone please help me?
