Dearest Darling friends,

In NDA, the cadets are trained to be ‘alert’ for forty-eight hours without food and sleep. ( Do you remember our valiant soldiers during Mumbai Terrorist attacks? ) How long are you able to be ‘alert’? This shows how much more we need to train our body, thoughts, feelings and attitudes.

I have read, the Indian army soldiers stationed in Saichen Glacier at minus 35 degrees, have a philosophy: “We never ask why, we do or die”

Whenever I read such statements, only one word resonates within me, 'Incredible'.

Here is another one that sets my heart & pulse racing...

He was joking on the starting blocks. He reacted last to the gun. He jogged over the finishing line. He broke the world record. Then he danced. And reminded us that ‘Being the best should be fun.’

USAIN BOLT. 3 gold medals. 3 world records.

Here is yet another one...Henri Cartier Bresson is considered to be the father of modern photojournalism. Most renowned photographers will have a favorite Bresson photo by which he/she was inspired. His photography gave birth to a new term ‘The decisive moment’, which basically means being at the right place, at the right time with the right kind of luck.

Since we believe in creating our own luck, we will replace the words, ‘with the right kind of luck’ with ‘with the right kind of commitment’.

People ask me, "What are your plans to get the best out of yourself?"

My answer, "Three things are necessary for a life of commitment that brings the best out of ourselves whether I am me, or Usain Bolt or Henri Cartier Bresson or our valiant soldiers - Drive, Decisions and Discipline. All this becomes worthwhile when we celebrate enough moments.

Our decisions define our day/our life. Our discipline defines what we do with our decisions. They merge and emerge out of each other. They make ordinary, extra-ordinary. We need to prepare physically, mentally, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually for this brilliant journey from the ordinary to the extra-ordinary."

Self-driven people learn to implement, look forward to challenges, never give up on what they believe, have the heart to explore, find tough decision making easy!"

There are going to be discoveries that will lead to anguish, there will be failures that will make you shaky. There are going to be successes that will be humbling, there will be silences that will be deafening.

In this process, like Usain Bolt I too want us to experience  ‘being the best should be fun!'

An Usain Bolt, an Henri Cartier Bresson, the valiant soldiers do not happen without without celebrations, drive, decisions and discipline.

Lets fill our life with enough 'WOW, my Life Story' moments. The saying goes, 'Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.' Our commitment to you is that Life School will do both.

With love, best wishes, prayers, and a tremendous sense of anticipation to the times ahead, your friend…
