Velocity template to get the folders from the image gallery template and replacing folders with imag

Hi Everybody,
I have to use image gallery portlet to display the images of 3 categories 1)Buildings 2)Roofings 3)Kits. These folders have placed on the landing page. On clicking of any of the folder will load the images.

I need to write the customized velocity template to display the just an image instead of folder, And on click of an image will load different images stored inside it.
