Web Systems Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Engineer who can work on an Infrastructure Standards team. You will be the single point of contact throughout the project life cycle of several key initiatives and will be expected to provide leadership and consultation on those projects from inception to implementation. This may involve HW testing, OS standards and changes, as well as application upgrades and tool certification. Your design skills, attention to detail, as well as documentation and follow through will be critical to the success of these projects.
In addition, you may be called on to provide support and training for the implementation of your projects.
Required areas of expertise are:
Solaris and RH OS, including Virtualization SUN Hardware Weblogic, especially 10.3 and newer, Tomcat/Apache a plus X86 Hardware a plus
Key Skills:
Very good understanding of Solaris OS and Hardware, including LDOMs and Containers. Ability to evaluate new technologies and recommend changes to existing standards.
Very good understanding of RH Linux . Knowledge of VMWare . Understanding Weblogic design and best practices. Knowledge of Java .
Ability to design and run POCs to certify tools before they enter into our production environment.
Very strong documentation and communication skills, both written and verbal. You will be expected to document and communicate your projects to multiple groups at all steps along the way in order to ensure agreement. . Ability to comprehend complex issues and effectively communicate at all levels of the organization. Self-starter with desire to understand work and project objectives, not just execute.
Have strong customer service skills that help deliver quality results in a demanding environment. Ability to manage stress and remain professional in a rapidly changing environment.
Ability to creatively solve problems and implement solutions and technologies
Job Requirements:
7-10 years experience with Solaris/RH and Middleware
7-10 years experience in Administration and Engineering w/Linux/Unix/Solaris (Solaris/10 and Redhat Linux) within large-scale Infrastructure and Production environments and their standards.
