Hi!

Happy to see some continuing development from sweetcron!

I've been using Sweetcron for some time, and developed my own theme
which I can contribute to lifepress if there is any interest.

I'm no php developer so it will need some work to be suited for
general use. there is some quirks here and there :)

It can be seen in action here: http://www.fredrikdanielsson.se/

Nice theme! I like the black/white style and the grid layout. :-)

For contributing your theme I'm not sure about the best way. I would
go and clone the Lifepress repository, add the theme and then ask for
a PULL. I don't know if your comfortable with Mercurial, so maybe it's
the best way you just send me the theme as a ZIP and I will add it to
a development branch and include it into Lifepress later.

Love the theme Fredde, really clean and simple...

I have a very hacked together theme, based on Uxcron, that also has a
lot of messy code under its bonnet.

If anyone would like to help me tidy it up, I would be very happy to
share it here:

Nice! I love the clean interface. I think I'm hooked on grid
layouts. :-)

I guess I have to write a short tutorial about how to clone the
Lifepress repository and add changes...

What kind of cleanup do you need to do? Just a basic HTML/PHP tidy or
a bigger rewrite?

Alright! Thanks for the kind words :)

I've cleaned it up and releasing here under a Creative Commons license
for now.

Get it here http://www.fredrikdanielsson.se/blog/gridpress/

It only contains icons and special markup for the feeds I've use: my
blog, twitter, delicious, last.fm, disqus and flickr.

@0bvious Nice theme you've got too! The Stream Categories, are they
manually added or is it automated from the feeds you've added in the
admin?

Hey @Fredde i've installed your theme but can't get the Flickr images. Maybe you forgot to send us the plugin or something?

Great theme!

Thanks

@Leandro
Strange. I developed and tested it on a vanilla lifepress installation. No plugins or modifications added or changed.

Anyone else having troubbles?

Thanks,
Fredde

The PHP is quite messy, and although a good portion of the layout gets
handled by CSS, there are bits and pieces of styling code dotted
around the actual PHP files. I never thought I might want to open the
theme up to others, so I added bits of styling and plugin code where I
needed it. It is quite messy, but someone with a good code head
wouldn't have a problem sifting through it.

Also, a lot of the HTML in the code is specifically for my site,
although I am sure this is not a big hassle to tidy up...

I could mail it out to anyone who is interested? But for the time
being, I have put a zip file of the whole thing up here:

http://machinemachine.net/stream/uxcron.zip

Perhaps a collaborative effort to tidy this up? I think it could make
a really nice sandbox theme.

Best

Did you create the icons yourself or are they released under a free
license?

I'm not sure yet if the Lifepress installation should include all the
themes or if every creator should host them on their own. Maybe I can
create a Wikipage with Links to all known themes...

Ok, I started http://code.google.com/p/lifepress/wiki/Themes as a
meeting point for Themes. People can add comments to that page if they
want their theme linked on the page. I think that's a good start. What
do you guys think?

Yes, I've created the icons, and the js script that creates the grid is licensed under a MIT license.

Well, I think so too, having all the themes bundeled will make the install bloated. Maybe only a basic theme should be included in imho.

Plugins for feeds could be included (if stable) as it's the core of lifepress.

I'm not sure if my hacked uxcron theme is ready to go public without
some notes on its messy nature. If you could add a few notes to the
wiki, something like "calling all theme editors: if you have time to
sift through and tidy up this theme we'd love your input" - plus a
link to the original uxcron : http://sweetcronthemes.com/

I think that might be more productive
