This
is both a test and an introduction. First, I am pleased to be included
in the Advisory Board of the Lifeboat Foundation and look forward to
many fruitful exchanges.
I
am an astronautical artist based in Switzerland. My involvement with
space activities began when I personally witnessed the beginnings of the
U.S. space program while living in the immediate vicinity of Cape
Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center (1959 -1970). There, I worked at
the space center in the summers of 1967 & 1968 during the Apollo
program.
As a professional artist, I have pursued two parallel art careers: as a
TerraArtist, I have developed an extensive oeuvre of hyper-realistic
nature paintings; as an AstroArtist, I am an early practitioner in the
field of the astronautical arts by having initiated and realized a
number of art-in-space projects beginning in 1985 including the
Cosmic Dancer (1993) and
Ars Ad Astra – The 1st Art Exhibition in Earth Orbit (1995) that were sent to the Mir space station.
Additional art-in-space interventions are presently under development including
Cosmic Dancer 2.0 which is planned for realization on the ISS this year.

My work has been exhibited in a number of international space and art
exhibitions. I am a member of the International Academy of Astronautics.
With Marco Bernasconi, I am co-author of the ”Space Option” concept – an
evolutionary plan to meet the basic and anticipated needs of humanity
through the utilization of near Earth resources.
My goal has been to introduce, nurture and expand a cultural dimension to humanity’s astronautical endeavors.
Currently, I am the “Resident Artist” of Greater.Earth – an online
platform and video blog dedicated to developing a new perception of our
planet and my personal space program.
Hoping this e-mail goes through and looking forward to meeting you
