Hello All,

I hope all of you had a Great Christmas Holiday, Kwaanza, or whatever
else you may celebrate this time of year.
The chat group has been pretty quiet the past few days. I was just
pondering over my 2010... the Highs and the Lows and figured i would
ask you all what your resolutions were.

Do you have a resolution or motto for the new year? And if so, please
share it with the group. You never know someone here may be able to
get motivated from you.

Also if you don't have one, why not?

I would love to also hear about your best moment of 2010...

Well, I guess i will start the discussion off...

I usually don't say "my new year resolution is...."  I guess i just set a goal for myself.  The goals i set are usually put into place by December 1st, my birthday.
As far as i am concerned that is the begining of my new year.

In anycase, for 2011 i have soooo many things going on and things that I want to do.  It seems as if they are far fetched and that I can't possibly achieve them in such a short period of time, but yet i set the goal.

So first on my list is (i am sure this may be on half of America's list)  weight loss.  LOL!! my continuous battle OF THE BULGE.

Second, saving a certain amount of money for my next trip out of the country.  I set that goal last year and I was able to save $2500 towards my trip to Italy in 2011.  So the savings continues...

Third and Fourth is where it gets tricky and makes me feel as though i just can't achieve.  Hmm.. as of a matter of fact, i don't think i will share those at this time.

So ya'll tell me what's on your plate.  I think its good to have a resolution or goal.. it helps to get things accomplished.

Happy holidays everyone!

Hmmmm...new years' resolutions...yeah, weight loss is at the top of my list too. LOL  But not so much weight loss as just starting a work-out schedule again and eating better, cooking more...I've fallen WAY off that wagon.  These are things that will make a healthier me and help to shed some pounds in the process.  Other resolutions for me are the usual typical suspects that I don't think are worth mentioning here. lol

As far as 2010 - I've had some really really tough moments this year, but some really really good ones too.  If I had to choose a best, I think it would be the day I received a financial MIRACLE that allowed me to move forward with law school (looking to start in fall 2011).  I had resolved to be content in the state where I was and trust God to move the obstacles, or else lead me in another direction.  Well when I least expected it, God just opened a door.  I will never forget what I felt most in that moment...shocked, lol...grateful, and loved.

Congratulations Angela!!

I don't really do resolutions...or if i do I guess i sort of do them every day. Every day is a clean slate to fix some stuff or do better. So i surely wouldnt wait til Jan 1 to fix some stuff i was messing up on for day weeks or months. LOL.

But if i HAD to have one overall goal fo rthe year it would be to worry less. It makes no sense to pray about something and then worry to death about it. I am a worrier too, and i get on my OWN nerves with that. So I'll probably spend a lot of time trying to catch myself mid-worry and STOP it.

Well, I'm not trying to gain or lose weight.  I just want to be more toned, gain more stamina and have a healthier diet.

I have loads of other resolutions, but as Jai said, they are things that I work on throughout the year.  Overall, my resolution is to be better.  Every year I want to improve on me as a person and want to feel as if I have helped improve someone else as a person....spiritually, financially, physically, socially, etc.  I want to be a better wife, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, granddaughter, colleague, friend and associate. As long as I improve from one year to another, I am moving in the right direction and am happy.

Oh....there is one stand-out resolution.  I want to be more grateful.  It brings the blessings!....and it'll help me lose that reputation of being such a pessimist or as some call it, a 'Debbie Downer.'  :o)

Hmm.. I hear that. Just work on improving daily...  Well, i think most of us work day to day to make each day better than the next, unless we are content in our current situations.

I think resolutions are more of a jump start, a new begining for some.

So Jai, Faunya, and Nia.. ya'll didn't mention 1 of your favorite moments from 2010.

I guess, I didn't mention mine either... Well one of my favorite moments in 2010 was the opportunity i had to travel to India.  That was a great experience.  And in the process, i experienced something that i had never felt before... some called it obsession, infactuation, craziness, lol!! I called it LOVE.

Shout out to MOTHER INDIA!!!

Well team,

I stopped doing resolutions for the new year other than be a better person.

But decided instead to make it a 2011 theme year.  My theme 'taking out the trash'.  So basically if it don't work, I'm getting rid of it.  Happiness is my ultimate goal.  Mine & my girls....& if you're part of it kudos, if not get out of my way.

2010 highlights no details but I unfortunately had some shady things go on, had some mommy daughter teenage lessons.  Had an absolutely amazing vacation in Jamaica with some fabulous divas.  Saw my sisters beautiful wedding I helped plan.  Most importantly learned to love myself better & stop allowing people to "walk off with all of my stuff"

:-)

Well my turn! Like most I don't do resolutions, just for the simple fact. But this year, I plan or have the desire to take it to the Max! I've learned in this year, I am not where I want to be and Where I should because of myself. So in 2010 and other past years I've defeated myself but in 2011 and coming years I will become victorious.  This year 2010 was a very interesting one, many high points and some low points, but I count all joy. I got married to a lovely women, lived in new York, got started in acting (stage plays) They Preached in my name still going strong Next Show Jan 22nd, moved into our first home, And I survived a year of Marriage! ( to God be the Glory ) now for all that knows me, I'm worked up thinking over the year...LOL. I don't know what God has planned for 2011 but I pray that everyone 2011 be better then 2010, and if God sees fit, we will talk about this come December 2011. Happy New Year!

Oh yeah I was just reminded of the miracle I was blessed to see, a lady at my job left work because of a headache and come to find out, she had a brain hemorrhage and could have died. Now for a person who suffer migraines often, I became fearful, but I prayed for this lady and she just walked past me with a smile on her face. So I'm thankful of the miracles I witnessed this year, I could state the others but I wouldn't be able to control my joy at work lol but God has been Good to me!
