Fallow to Fodder - Collective Action to address Fodder Crisis using Natural Farming methods

Case Study - WASSAN Publication | June 21, 2022

Community Action to Address Fodder Crisis - Farmer Experiences.png

Dear All,

We would like to share a new case study on "Fallow to Fodder - Collective Action to address Fodder Crisis using Natural Farming methods"

Ayyavaripalle village shows a way of reviving fallow lands to secure fodder in rainfed areas using Natural Farming methods. Dairy farmers in this village show their payment receipts for milk supplied as evidence of how multi-species fodder cultivation using natural farming methods extensively in their rainfed fallow lands can increase fat content in milk and strengthen their livestock economy.

Facilitated by WASSAN under APCNF (Andhra Pradesh Community Managed Natural Farming) program and supported by Azim Premji Foundation, the village moved from purchasing about Rs.17.00 lakhs worth of fodder in scarce times to surplus.

If you have any comments, please contact Shri. U. Sudhakar (sudh...@wassan.org).

Thank you,

WASSAN
