ATrojan horse, Trojan malware, or simply a Trojan is a type of malware. It makes up approximately 51.45 percent of all malware,1 which comes as no surprise, given the unique traits of a Trojan. To infiltrate a device, a Trojan presents itself as legitimate software, but hidden beneath its seemingly harmless exterior are malicious codes that can damage your devices.

So, still thinking that the attachment was legitimate, you unwittingly downloaded and installed a Trojan. What happens now? The malware executes and starts damaging your computer, but the amount of damage depends on how the hacker designed the Trojan. In general, Trojan malware can:

A Trojan virus on a computer, or simply a Trojan, is a malicious software program or code masquerading as legitimate and harmless software. Once it infects a device, it executes its task, which may include deleting or modifying data, stealing data, installing additional malware, and disrupting system performance.

Trojan viruses can be removed in various ways. If you know which software contains the malware, you can simply uninstall it. However, the most effective way to remove all traces of a Trojan virus is to install antivirus software capable of detecting and removing Trojans.

Trojan viruses are bad because they trick users into downloading malware that harms devices in various ways. As an example, remote access Trojans (RATs) give hackers remote access to infected computers, which can result in spying, data theft, and identity theft.

I have a Trojan on my computer. I tried removing it with windows defender. I am using windows 10 home the latest version. I have scanned with Free eset, adcleaner and malwarebtyes premium but it's not detected, only by windows defender. I ran the offline scanner too but still, after restart, its detected again.

The scan finished. It said ta the end now viruses were found although whilst scanning it showed it had found 17 as I was watching it scan. Where do I find the resulting log file to show you the results?

Know that the "No infection found" at the bottom of the MSERT.log is all that truly matters. Do not fret needlessly. We will be doing much more. There is not a single-quick fix. There will be multiple tasks and runs to be done. Have much patience.

I managed to do a scan before I go to sleep and there was no trogen detected by windows defender. I will wait until tomorrow and see if it is there still. If so I will take this next step with you. Thank you again for your help this far.

Look for that exe. IF it is still present, then Delete that file. Plus, if you got that U-Render folder from some dodgy or hack site or some type of "torrent" then I would suggest truly to delete that whole folder. This is a quick note. There is much work to do here.

Click the selection to the left for the line "Always register Malwarebytes in the Windows Security Center".

We want that to be set as Off .... be sure that line's radio-button selection is all the way to the Left. thanks.

I did delete the exe. The official website for the file was taken down as the company stopped selling their product so I couldn't access my account therefore had to look elsewhere, bad idea. It is all deleted though, and I have no more problems.

I understand what you say. That said, I encourage you to still do what I last suggested. That is a beneficial thing. It is a tool ( one of many) that is known and trusted. I would proceed with it. Then after that, I will have more security checks.

To remove the FRSTENGLISH tool & its work files, do this. Go to your Downloads folder. Do a RIGHT-click on FRSTENGLISH.exe & select RENAME & then change it to UNINSTALL.exe.

Then run that ( double click on it) to begin the cleanup process.

Keep your system and programs up to date. Several programs release security updates on a regular basis to patch vulnerabilities. Keeping your software patched up prevents attackers from being able to exploit them to drop malware.

Only run Malware bytes in normal mode or it will miss a lot of stuff. If the Malware will not let you run Malware bytes rename the file and try again after a reboot. You may also need to run Windows defender offline first to lighten the load of malware before starting windows.

I generally move the PC to a DMZ, and then just use a handful of tools (ccleaner, mbam, superAntiSpyware), a few times through safemode, and I manually check startup entries and disable/delete harmful ones.

One of my first steps in cleaning up baddies is disabling system restore. Why? System Restore backs up the bad with the good so its possible the restore points may be infected themselves. Once your system returns clean, go ahead and reactivate restore.

Tons of great suggestions here. malwarebytes now had the chameleon tool, which has worked great for me so far. Just make sure you have some type of internet connection to dload the latest dats after the install.

I never do a system restore they generally just restore your applications and software back to where they were and the virus may still be there backup all your personal documents and things you need and process a rebuild. Easiest and safest way to get rid of a virus.

I do use other tools as well, it just seems like safe mode and system restore will get the system to a more stable point and allow other tools to better function. Of course, in a work environment, it is better to wipe the hard drive and re-install. On someones home computer that has years of stuff on it, wiping and re-installing is a much bigger challenge.
