Ihave problems with my windows 10Windows Update Erorr code 1058 disabling itself when startedthe only thing I have left is to do a repair upgrade with the media-creation tool for win10I have tons and tons of files in C, such as saves, photos, apps, datasWill that be delted if I select ''Keep files and apps'' , only files on D: (E:) will be ok or the whole C as well?
(3) Keep Nothing: Deletes the User Profile and all else and isessentially a fresh install. Be certain you have backed up all yourdata. "Keep Nothing" is necessary if the User Profile is damaged, because broken User Profiles cannot be repaired and it is generallyeasier to back up and start over if the User Profile is damaged. Itdepends on the precise situation.
Trying to get the in-place repair upgrade to work for my laptop thatwon't boot to the sign in screen, won't go into safe mode, won't runsfc and it also won't load my system restore point and chkdsk /scan/perf ran but returned error
After you've done the emergency repair process, the computer still doesn't operate normally. In this situation, you may want to do a repair in-place upgrade or an in-place upgrade to a newer operating system version. A repair in-place upgrade means performing an in-place upgrade to the same OS version as the existing one.
A repair installation will restore the current Windows installation to the version of the installation DVD. It also requires the installation of all updates that aren't included on the installation DVD.
I see that the errors that are in your output log are caused by the mods you have installed. Most likely the issue with upgrading is also caused by the mods. Please see if you get the same issue without any mods installed.
I am having the exact same problem since the new A 21.1 update. i cant upgrade or repair any blocks with any of the upgrade tools such as stone axe or nail gun. i have the mods "improved hordes" and "unneseceraly beautiful but immersive" installed. i'm wondering if you were able to find and fix the problem
I had the same issue. In my particular situation, it was the OS-Core mod that I needed updating for A21.1 which solved my repair block issue. If you have any mods that are dependent on it, it may be worth a look.
. . . and in my case it was "MPLogue_Prefabs_A21". Removing the mod fixed the issue; the only files that (I think) could have caused this problem were in it's "Assets" folder - six "VolumeFog01xxx/04 unity3d files. The 'xxx's are colors.
How to use it?
I try repair Iron Punching Daggers (cir. 10% dur.) with Weapon Repair Kit but it do not work. I was watching some wideos and try to replicate the methode. They change mechanics or something?
Btw. I was dragging Kit to Daggers in eq.
Welcome to the Forum
@Wonsu007 . If I remember right repair kits weapons for and armor will not repair completely broken items. I logged in and tried that is correct . Place broken items in bench with the required materials and it can be repaired.
Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.72.28.1030
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Island Living, Cats and Dogs, Get Together, Seasons, City Living, Realm of Magic, Parenthood, Vampires, Paranormal, Tiny Living, Laundry Day, Vintage Glamour, Spooky
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Have a sim with Level 10 Handiness try to do any of the upgrades on any version of the washer or dryer. This also occurs when items like the stero break, and the sim goes to repair it.
What happens when the bug occurs? The sim gets stuck in an endless loop and the upgrade/repair never gets done. There is no green progress around the action, so I know it is glitching. The sim will work on the upgrade forever unless I cancel the action. This also happens if a repair person is called to fix the item -- they get stuck in the endless loop. They will not leave until I "fire" them.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see a green progress circle/bar around the action that shows the progress of the upgrade/repair. I also expect to see the upgrade/repair eventually get completed.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Never used.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure
Basically what I already stated. So far I've noticed this bug with any version of the washer and dryer from Laundry Day, as well as my stereo. I was previously able to upgrade my stereo, and it is supposed to be unbreakable, but it still breaks. The only way I am able to repair it when this happens is to replace it.
I don't work or have any association with EA. I give advice to the best of my knowledge and cannot be held responsible for any damage done to your computer/game.
Please only contact me via PM when asked to do so.
@crinrict @Psychotps Hi, yes the stereo was fully upgraded. I eventually just replaced it and it hasn't broken since, although it's only been a few days game time. As for the washer/dryer, I have tried buying new ones, switching between the stacked and the horizontal washer/dryer, reset object (debug), and I even just had my sims move houses. I thought maybe switching to a new lot would fix the issue, but no luck. Since I just moved to a new lot, both the stereo and the washer/dryer were in my household inventory from the move before I placed them in the new house.
My brother and I were busy pounding away with our hammers, putting spacers between the new 2x10 joists on my new replacement deck, when a man came around the back of my house and asked if we had a building permit. I said no.
He then took a look at the project and said I needed to get a building permit that afternoon or we would need to shut down. As directed, I delivered a set of plans at the Barnstable town offices and applied for my permit.
So much for thinking I could just replace an old unsafe deck on my own. I am a fairly skilled woodworker (my wife says my shop is not a hobby, it's an industry) and having designed and built several decks on other houses I have owned around the country as well as a few for friends along the way, it was clear that as a do-it-yourselfer, I had not done my due diligence with the town on this project. Fortunately, the inspector said the work done so far looked to be to code.
When I purchased the 1970s-era house on scenic Lumbert Pond in Centerville six years ago, I knew I was going to have to put some work into it. I knew I wanted to replace the deck someday; it was poorly built, springy and was far from meeting the town's safety code. But I figured it was a project I could deal with down the road.
That is, until I got into replacing some windows and doors 18 months ago and found that moisture between the house and the deck had rotted away some of the siding and joists around the door. I also found a haven for ant colonies.
The present deck ran 48 feet along the back of the house and was 10 feet deep, but in the summer when I had the casement windows open and a table full of guests, it didn't leave much room to get around on either side.
If you are a do-it-yourselfer and want to build a deck, your first stop will be to your town's permit office. It likely will have a set of specifications for the basics of building decks to code. You have to get a permit, even if you're rebuilding a deck, and it will have to be inspected and approved by the town's building inspector. Also, given the pond in my back yard, I had to get approval from conservation authorities.
My old deck was nailed to the house; the new one is bolted every 16 inches. The old deck had 2x8 joists spaced every 24 inches; the new one is comprised of 2x10 joists spaced at 16 inches. On the outer side, the old deck joists were nailed to a 2x8 board with finish nails and the board was notched into 4x4 posts that sat on two buried cinder blocks. The new deck's outer end is supported by a beam that is made of three 2x10s bolted and nailed together sitting on top of 6x6 posts that sit of a 4-foot-deep concrete footer. (I had to re-dig several footers to prove to the inspector that they were in fact that deep). Also, the old railing was unsafe as well constructed more like a fence would be.
My final inspection turned out not to be final, as the inspector found a few details that still needed to be added, such as a handrail on the stairs to code, in addition to the one I had made with a 1x6 on the top of the railing.
Certainly a project like this one will eat up all your free time; my golf buddies had given up on me for the summer. Doing it myself allowed my wife and I to enjoy an upgraded deck that would likely have cost three-fold what we put into it. That would not have happened with our budget.
But more than the sweat equity, it was rewarding to handle such a project from scratch and see it through to where we could stretch out in a lounge chair and enjoy a gin and tonic on a summer afternoon.
What does one do on a free Saturday afternoon? Upgrading Linux machines of course! I thought upgrading my Ubuntu 20.04 LTS laptop to Ubuntu 22.04 LTS would be a routine task I could keep running in the background, but... computer said no.
