Hi neighbors,

We wanted to send a roundup of recent info that might be of interest and some upcoming neighborhood events! If you know of events that we didn't include here, please email us!

Upcoming events:

TODAY, October 9 - 5:30pm-7:30pm: Happy Hour hosted by the Aurora Reimagined Coalition at Lantern Brewing. Meet your neighbors and local business owners while enjoying drinks and snacks and sharing ideas about what Aurora could and should be. Lantern Brewing is a family-friendly venue, so feel free to bring kids! For more information about the Aurora Reimagined Coalition, you can sign up for their mailing list here

Saturday, October 12 - 10am-12pm: NORA Refresh Community Cleanup. Help remove graffiti and pick up trash along Aurora Ave. No experience necessary! A great opportunity to help build a better, cleaner, and more connected Aurora community. Meet at Pilgrim Coffeehouse.

Wednesday, October 16 - 6:30pm-8pm: October monthly Licton Springs Community Council meeting IN PERSON in the Robert Eagle Staff Middle School library. We're looking forward to seeing everyone at our quarterly in person meeting next week! We'll be welcoming Natalie Walton-Anderson, Mayor Harrell's Director of Public Safety, as our guest speaker. She'll be able to talk about her current public safety priorities and answer questions from attendees. Full agenda to come!

Thursday, October 31 - 4:30pm-6pm: Licton Springs Halloween Walk at Licton Springs Park. LSCC is thrilled to again host the Halloween Park Walk! Families can walk around the "forest" and collect candy from volunteers! This event is a great addition or alternative to traditional trick-or-treating. We will also have warm cider and music near the playground. This event is generously sponsored by Mac's Flooring, Pilgrim Coffeehouse, Salt Blade, and neighbors just like you. Flyer attached!

Recent items of interest:
  • You can find District 5 Seattle City Councilmember Cathy Moore's most recent newsletter here. This includes updates on budget committee action, the Priority Hire program along the Aurora Ave. corridor, and a recap of the recent neighborhood mural painting event. You can find an archive of CM Moore's newsletters (and sign up to receive them at your own email address) here.
  • The North Precinct Advisory Committee met most recently on October 2. You can find a recording of the meeting, including chat details, here. The minutes from the meeting are attached. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 6 at 7pm via Zoom. We will send out information as the date gets closer. NPAC shares updates on their Facebook page.
