Hi neighbors,
Our next Licton Springs Community Council meeting is next Wednesday, September 17, at 6:30 PM via Zoom.
This month, Amy Barden, Chief of the City of Seattle Community Assisted Response & Engagement (CARE) department, will be joining us to share the vision for the department and current operations.
The CARE Department is a public safety branch that handles low-risk behavioral health calls by dispatching crisis responders, operates the city's 9-1-1 Communications Center, and works alongside the police and fire departments to offer non-emergency assistance. CARE's mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based, and innovative public safety responses to mental health and crisis situations, improving public safety by diversifying the response to calls within Seattle.
We are looking forward to welcoming Amy and other members of her team and learning more about the positive impact the CARE team is already having on the Licton Springs neighborhood.
