Hi Greenways folks,

We're entering our LAST TWO WEEKS to make a difference on this levy proposal. Keep the momentum going!
  1. Send an Email to Council asking for more funding for sidewalks and safety. Council is getting a lot of emails requesting a smaller levy right now and needs to hear from us.
  2. Tuesday June 18: 9:30 am: Show up at City Hall to speak directly to Council at a meeting. You can also sign up to speak virtually. See here for public comment how-to and talking points. If you can’t make it, save the date for the final public comment opportunity on Tues, July 2, 9:30 am.
See more information below.

Be well,
Clara

There have been 8 people killed in crashes on Seattle streets in the last 6 weeks. This is a safety crisis we must not ignore. Now is the moment to demand more from City Council as they decide the next 8 years of transportation spending in Seattle.

ACT NOW to send an email to the Seattle City Council to support a bigger transportation levy to improve safety and accessibility for people walking, rolling, biking, and riding transit in Seattle, or draft your own email to cou...@seattle.gov

GUIDE FOR YOUR COMMENTS TO COUNCIL:

  1. Introduce yourself: Your name, where you live, how you get around or other relevant information.
  2. I am a voter and I would vote for a $1.7 billion levy that invests more in sidewalks and safety.
  3. Personal story about why you care: How would new sidewalks, bike lanes, or faster buses make a difference in your life?
  4. Thank you for supporting a larger transportation levy that will get us to our safety, equity, and climate goals.

Thank you for your advocacy!!

Be well,
Clara

Hi Greenways team,

THANK YOU to those of you who've sent an email to City Councilmembers! If you have not yet done so, please do now -- we've added a few specifics now that we have details on amendments that councilmembers have proposed. They are voting on July 2, so this is our final week to push for more funding for the projects we care about for the next 8 years.
    1. Send an Email to Council asking for more funding for sidewalks and safety. Council is getting a lot of emails requesting a smaller levy right now and needs to hear from us.
    1. CALL YOUR COUNCILMEMBER: Leave a voicemail telling them that you support a larger levy that invests in safety and sidewalks. Further talking points here.
