We're entering our LAST TWO WEEKS to make a difference on this levy proposal. Keep the momentum going!
There have been
8 people killed in crashes on Seattle streets in the last 6 weeks. This is a safety crisis we must not ignore. Now is the moment to demand more from City Council as they decide the next 8 years of transportation spending in Seattle.
ACT NOW to send an email to the Seattle City Council to support a bigger transportation levy to improve safety and accessibility for people walking, rolling, biking, and riding transit in Seattle, or draft your own email to
cou...@seattle.gov.Â
Tuesday June 18: 9:30 am: Show up at
City Hall to speak directly to Council at a meeting. You can also
sign up to speak virtually. See here for
public comment how-to and talking points. If you can’t make it, save the date for the final public comment opportunity on Tues, July 2, 9:30 am.
GUIDE FOR YOUR COMMENTS TO COUNCIL:
- Introduce yourself: Your name, where you live, how you get around or other relevant information.
- I am a voter and I would vote for a $1.7 billion levy that invests more in sidewalks and safety.
- Personal story about why you care: How would new sidewalks, bike lanes, or faster buses make a difference in your life?
- Thank you for supporting a larger transportation levy that will get us to our safety, equity, and climate goals.
Thank you for your advocacy!!
