1. BIKE EVERYWHERE DAY IS MAY 20
Join your neighbors for arts and games at Greenwood Park and celebrate Bike Everywhere Day 2022. We’ll have a canopy set up at 89th & Fremont between 4pm and 6pm.
Play a game of cornhole, compete in a Slow Bike competition, chalk art on the street, or just talking about bikes with other neighbors. RSVP on the Facebook event
P.S. It’s not too late to join the Greenways Bike Month Team! Click this link to set up your account and join the “NW Greenways” team. It costs nothing, tracking your miles biked is easy, AND you can win prizes!

2. CONNECTIONS TO LIGHT RAIL - A BIKE TOUR
The 130th and 145th Street stations will be opening in the next 2-3 years. The success of these stations depends on how effective the east-west biking and walking connections are. Join us on Sunday, May 22 at 3pm as we tour the proposed routes to these stations while discussing alternatives and ways we can advocate for effective solutions.
Details: Meet at N 100th Street / Fremont Ave N at 3:00pm. We'll bike north on the Interurban to N 145th Street, east over I-5 via Roosevelt Way N, south via 8th Ave NE to Northgate, then back to 100th/Fremont via the John Lewis Memorial Bridge.
Total distance is approximately 7 miles, some of which will be in mixed traffic.
More information and route map

3. ASHWORTH GREENWAY WALK AUDIT
The Ashworth Greenway has been delayed for years. When the 130th Street light rail station opens in 2025, crossing N 130th Street will become even more difficult and dangerous. Join neighbors, parents, and students as we walk the area around N 130th Street and Ashworth Ave N to identify the challenges that students and staff at Ingraham High School face as they navigate this part of the Aurora corridor.Details: Meet at Ashworth Ave N / N 135th Street at 4:30pm. Total distance ~1.5 miles. More information and route map

4. NEXT GREENWAYS MEETING
Join us in person on June 7th for our (now bi-monthly) regular meeting of the Licton-Haller and Greenwood-Phinney Greenways groups. We’ve reserved a table at the outdoors beer garden at Halcyon Brewing in Greenwood (formerly Naked City). We’ll discuss future event planning details and the idea of merging our groups under the new name “NW Greenways”. Come have a beer with us! RSVP on the Facebook event
