SDOT has released a new toolkit  listing various safety implementations that can be applies to streets, including an indication of each's rough-magnitude costs for normal situations (actual costs vary significantly depending on the specific situation).
The engineering strategies the SDOT commonly uses to make streets safer and more comfortable for pedestrians.
