#1609: LICQ generates malformed packets when sending direct messages
--------------------------------+-------------------------------------------
Reporter: Loc2262 | Owner:
Type: defect | Status: new
Priority: normal | Milestone:
Component: Protocol: ICQ/AIM | Version: 1.3.5
Resolution: | Keywords: malformed packet crash
--------------------------------+-------------------------------------------

Comment(by flynd):

A crash is an obvious sign that there is some problem at Trillian's end,
but if we can change the request sent by Licq to workaround it, I think it
should be done.

I've looked at the capture and my Wireshark does not mark anything as
malformed. Please clarify exactly what field in the packet that is faulty
or missing.
Also, a capture of the same type of packet when Trillian doesn't crash
(i.e. sent from another non-Licq client) would be very helpful.

If anyone can give a clear explanation of what Licq is doing wrong when
Trillian crashes, please reopen ticket.
