The firmware appeared to update successfully, and after rebooting the NVR, I observed that it requested a new password be entered, but there was no username entered, nor was it possible to enter one. When attempting to access any menus, I was prompted for the 'Unlock Pattern', but it did not accept the unlock pattern I had entered previously.

I am now unable to access any menus etc due to it not accepting my previously entered password. It appears the firmware was not the correct version for the Australian version camera. The supplier wants $180 to flash the NVR with the original firmware which they indicate may or may not work.

I have read a lot about using the tftp option, but I am unable to locate the correct firmware (digicap.dav) file for my NVR. The Australian site doesn't appear to have any firmware for my model NVR,

The Australian supplier has provided me with a link to download the Australian version of the firmware, which was successful. There are some minor differences to the interface between the European version I downloaded previously and the Australian version I obtained today.

I guess the moral of the story is....why, when you buy a perfectly functioning piece of electronic equipment do you feel the need to upgrade the firmware (a quick scan of Whirlpool will show you all the heartache actually) i just dont understand!

Axis and Bosch both have regularly updated easily obtained firmware, never bricked either. Came close with a few Axis but they reverted to a fail safe that enabled a firmware upload right in the browser.

I just recently went through this pain after installing the us version on my australian nvr. The supplier wasn't able to fix it n now having to pay 4 a new nvr. I want to try n attempt fixing the old 1 since they gave it back to me. Stupid of me to want to upgrade my firmware. They r ont even tell u its incompatible
