In my group we have been using the present version of the library for a couple of months. The instabilities we found when using Intel MKL library with gcc seem to be gone due to the new configuration process and the library works (if not extremely efficient) on all our clusters.

I would say it is time to tag the first official release of the library, if you do not object.

Well, I have only two minor objections:

1. In src/sdf/data_file.cc, I get a bunch of compilation errors. It
seems that the man pages agree with the compiler that a unistd.h
include is missing.
2. If you could postpone the release till next week, then I would
try to brush up the documentation until, say, next Sunday,
especially the introductory pages, which are a bit outdated and
incomplete. This might be a useful feature to have for the release.
Although, of course, it is up to you. :)

I am a bit puzzled. None of the platforms I used gives compilation errors. Could you copy-paste them?
