Dear all,

Hopefully, this is my last question for today.
Do you have any plan for 4.1? I see a bunch of commits with 4.1 in their messages.
I'm just wanted to know as it would be better for Sage to use a proper Singular version rather than some random commit.

Best,
JPF

We plan to have a Singular release at the end of september
(mainly waiting for http://www.singular.uni-kl.de:8002/trac/ticket/768,
which is in principle solved, and porting)
It is not yet clear if it will be 4.0.4
(with the changes currently described in
https://github.com/Singular/Sources/blob/spielwiese/doc/NEWS.texi
)
or if it will be 4.1.0 which additional introduces new types
(Ring: the current internal type coeffs,
Matrix: like "bigintmat", but with entries in any "Ring",
Number: the elements of "Ring", independent of the current (polynomial)
"ring".)
or both....

The main problem is the syntax: introduce a more mathematical notation
(a ring is a polynomial ring in Singular, Ring should be more gneral)
while keeping backward compatiblity.

Regards, Hans

Great, 4.0.4 or 4.1 would be equally good for Sage.
