Absurd "justice" systems …

https://www.theguardian.com/environment/article/2024/jul/18/five-just-stop-oil-supporters-jailed-over-protest-that-blocked-m25

Assuming there was no instance of violence as a result of the actions of these activists causing the M25 in the UK to be blocked, the appropriate libertarian/individualism way to deal with this is for all those affected (the victims) to present their claims for damages, for these to be evaluated by the justice system and then demand from the organization Just Stop Oil itself compensation for these damages.

It would probably bankrupt the organization as business representatives may have missed appointments and lost deals as but one instance of who knows how many costly inconveniences may have resulted?

Instead incarceration for these five non violents!?

This sentencing is a manifestation of the coercive offshoots of classical liberalism, in this case possibly the "conservative" right-spiral?

As coercive, no less if not more, the progressive offshoot of classical liberalism, the left-spiral that has captured the label "liberal" and ranges from no longer classical liberalism to outright totalitarianism e.g. incarceration of anti abortionists seen praying outside abortion clinics!?

Absurd … both offshoots …

Demand for damages would be far more effective as restitutive justice, and more importantly, from a libertarianism/individualism point of view, morally appropriate …

As we live in the real world, with libertarian/individualist enclaves hopefully not too far away in the future outcome,  but only the work in progress that is Argentina as a current example, shutting down peaceful protests, be it hippies lying on freeways or those praying outside abortion clinics, this will only encourage more "Summer of Love" 2020 type protests where billions of dollars of damage was done, hundreds were injured and some dozens killed ...
