New topics

It has been some time since I used googlegroups, and a new version has been released. It seems that you can only create new topics on the group itself, and not from sent emails. Let me know if I am wrong.
emals sent to google groups do show on the conversations list, but do not appear to be distributed. If you reply or forward such an email from the site, it is distributed.

I think it depends on your settings... I had mine set to "No email" until last week, so I was not getting any emails and could only read posts on the site. I changed my settings to "Individual emails" a few days ago and now I'm getting every post and every reply instantly. Other options include "Daily digest" which means your email becomes a post right away, but you only see the email and responses the next day. There are also administrative settings which could cause some posts or posts from some people to be delayed or moderated... usually an email without subject line or less than 50 characters will be put on hold for a group admin to moderate first. Most of those settings can be changed or adjusted. I own & manage two other groups - one for the award-winning Southern Alberta mountain summit radio activators.
