Hmmm, I wonder why? A country no longer worth dying for ... ?

Oh well, they still have the draft by the way.

They can always resort to that ... there is no Non Aggression Principle or Harm With Consent Rule to morally impede conscription ...

If one were to believe in nationalistic concepts like borders, then the idea would be to arrange things such that you don't die for your country, but that the other guy dies for his. So there is a double-whammy of mis-thinking there.

Not only in the US. SA too. I have been amazed when chatting to 20 somethings, gen Zee, about their warped, sometimes 180 degrees, opposite to reality.

They have been fed, and swallowed values without question. Without source.

My standard questions is why should we all be equal? It is met with blank stares. But... but... like everybody knows.

Great piece, thanks. I too am a 'know nothing' as he suggests. Bit I take his points baout understand your present by knowing the past of your culture. I assume this way of his student's being has societal benefits otherwise it would not have been adopted to such a large extent in the Western world.
