Is anyone else having problems with Managing Contacts?  I tried to autobuddy an account with 27 other accounts yesterday and it just hung.  I tried to do it again this morning and had the same experience.  Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

Thanks,
Sharon

Hi Sharon,

I’ve been having that problem as well since Monday. I think it’s a matter of the progress bar not showing progress. The autobuddying actually did work, ultimately, but without the progress bar I couldn’t tell when it was finished.

Hi folks,

The length of time the auto-buddying process takes depends on the
number of buddy relationships. If you just have a few users it will
be done in just a couple of seconds. The largest setup on Libraryh3lp
has over 500 users and took about 45 minutes to complete a
comprehensive auto-buddying operation the last time we did it.

So some practical tips to help until the progress bar is fixed: First
up, the buddying process is really server-side, and it won't hurt
anything to refresh your page right after clicking the "make it so"
button. If you're doing a large number of users in a comprehensive
operation that may take a couple of minutes and you're eager to see
when it's done, you can check status by looking at a user's contacts:
the checkmarks reflect the current state and if the operation isn't
done yet, checkmarks won't appear for that user, for those buddies.
You can check both sides of the relationship by clicking on the
buddied users, then Manage Contacts.

The progress bar has an issue with a third-party javascript library
that was changed a bit during our restructuring last week. We're
definitely fixing that up as soon as we can.

Very best,
Pam

The Manage Contacts (aka Auto-Buddy) progress bar is fixed. Might
need to clear cache if it doesn't work right away.

Sorry for the trouble and thanks for your patience!
