We are in process of migrating to LibGuides 2.0 and would like to know the best way to incorporate the LibraryH3lp widgets. The migration that SpringShare completed did not migrate the widgets correctly. Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi Michael,

Sorry the initial LibGuides 2.0 migration didn't work out!  It will probably be simplest to re-add the chat widget code in places where it didn't work.  Probably best to delete the non-working code completely first in case it is jumbled up.  As far as we know, LibraryH3lp code that worked in the original LibGuides has been working with 2.0.

Here is some basic info -- the wording might be specific to the first version of LibGuides, but the general concepts are the same:  https://docs.libraryh3lp.com/libguides

Let us know if still no joy and we're happy to look further!

Very best,
Pam

Hey Michael,

Before we did our migration, I was testing in our v2 beta site and realized our widgets were not going to work. We were still using the old version of the widgets and they do not support https. You need to use the new-ish Services tab to create your widgets and use that code. The nice thing is that it keeps all your code in the LibraryH3lp admin instead of having to make updates all the places you have it embedded. I also heartily recommend putting your chat widget code in as a Widget Asset in LibGuides so it is super easy for folks to reuse it.

All best,
Heidi
