One quick thought. It looks like there are similar reports for that Firefox plugin.  And that there may be a version of the Firefox HTML5 desktop notifications plugin provided by the plugin author that may fix this issue.

I've attached an image of the error message, this starting happening yesterday into today.  The error happens when you switch between tabs when notifications are popping up.  Also the error happens less frequently but sometimes while not switching between tabs.

Agree, I was just reading the logs for the HTML5 addon.  There are Firefox 17 bugs reported.  I installed the fix you linked to and it works fine now.
