Hi all,

Hi all,

I hope everyone is having a great spring semester so far! I’m sure
many of you have seen this, but I wanted to share a TLA pre-conference
program that might interest you:

Wednesday, March 23, 1:30-4:30, Murfreesboro, TN
The Transitioning Student: Their Needs, Our Roles
Jeanine Akers, St. Mary’s School, Memphis, Tennessee
Virginia Cairns, University of Tennessee, Chattanooga
Jean Closz, Blount County Public Library
Tammy Voelker, Kent State University
This lively pre-conference will discuss what makes the 21st century
student ready for college and the role that school, academic, and
public libraries play in fostering that readiness. Kent State
Libraries' Coordinator for High School Outreach, Tammy Voelker, will
share information about Kent State's Informed Transitions program and
Transition2College website. The pre-conference will also feature a
"pecha kucha" of best practices for transitioning students from
Tennessee Libraries.
Sponsored by the College and University Libraries Section, School
Libraries Section, Library Instruction Round Table, and the Children
and Young Adults Round Table.

More information is on the TLA website. Looks like a good one. Hope to
see some of you there!

My apologies if you get this message twice. The Google Group is a work
in progress. There are only a few of us in here, so I'm still using my
email distribution list as well. Take care!

Jenny
