Hi everyone,
We're organizing a global hack on July 22-23 for Software Carpentry and
related projects - see https://etherpad.mozilla.org/swc-sprint-2014 for
the plans [sic] so far. Would any of you be interested in joining us to
hack on content for librarians? We could easily arrange space in
Edmonton (for folks there), Boston (ditto), and elsewhere...
Cheers,
Greg

I'm sure there would be Edmonton interest. We could organize locally and Edmonton Public Library would be happy to host too.

Hi Greg,

Sam, Dana, and I conferred about this today. Due to vacation time and the proximity to the boot camp we are running in July, we don't think we can commit to this hackfest right now. We're just beginning to build the Edmonton librarian SWC base, so I'm not sure that there would be local interest in the community outside of us at the moment. The SWC brand isn't yet well known in our local librarian community. Perhaps a date in the early fall would work better?

We are developing a few library-specific examples for use in our boot camp which we will share. We'll definitely also share our experience, as we've used Davide's post-mortem blog post to inform our own plan moving forward.

Take care,
Vicky

Hi Vicky,
Thanks for the info - yeah, summer's not a great time even without the
bootcamp you're running. Cam's told me a bit about your examples,
though, and I'm looking forward to them.
Cheers,
Greg
