The LIC SIG Conveners wanted to share some exciting news that will affect the SIG in 2011!  MLA News will feature an Instruction column that
will run on a bi-monthly basis.

While Donna O’Malley and I will serve as the column co-editors, we need your support to turn the column into an informative and engaging addition to MLA News.

So if you have a topic you want to feature or are doing something cool in your instruction program that you want to share with the rest of us this is definitely the opportunity for you. In addition, a bylined contribution to MLA News is worth 1 AHIP point.

All interested participants should send your idea to Shannon (sdj...@vcu.edu) or Donna (donna....@uvm.edu).

Potential article topics include but are not limited to:

    * Teaching with technology
    * Strategies for embedding your library instruction in the curriculum
    * Librarian/faculty partnerships in instruction
    * Tips for managing an instruction program
    * Large group instruction
    * Asynchronous instruction
    * Using social media tools in instruction
    * Evaluating instruction
    * Classroom Assessment techniques
    * Instruction for different groups, not necessarily curriculum based: nurses, researchers, preceptors, etc.
    * Marketing and promoting instructional opportunities

All suggestions are welcomed!
