Would you like a chance to talk to others doing the same work? Then
do we have an opportunity for you!
The Libraries in Curriculum SIG will be meeting at MLA to discuss two
topics of current interest in evidence based practice and health
sciences information literacy education: large group instruction and
asynchronous instruction. Are you employing either of these modes of
instruction? Can you share with us problems, successes, and plans for
improvement? If at all possible, please come with a brief presentation
(2-10 minutes) of your experiences to share with the group. Handouts
or links to more information would be welcome.
The agenda will also include
1. Information about the switch to a new electronic hosting system for
the listserv and web space
2. Opportunities to continue discussion sessions in the future
3. Volunteers for SIG Co-conveners for the 2011-2012 planning year
Mark your calendars for The Libraries in Curriculum SIG Meeting.
Date: Tuesday, May 25
Time: 7:30-9am
Place: Kalorama Room, Hilton Lobby Level
The Libraries in Curriculum SIG focuses on librarian instruction in
support
of health sciences curricula in all its various forms. The SIG
provides a
forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences related to library
instruction; and facilitates communication, collaboration and
networking
between librarians involved in instruction. The SIG encourages
discussion
of timely issues involved in librarian instruction through the
discussion
pages on the new site, through our co-sponsorship of section
programming and
at our annual business meeting at the MLA Annual Meeting.
