Dear Colleagues,

Over the past 18 months, the Library Publishing Workflows (LPW) project has been working with 12 partner libraries in the US and Canada to create a set of publicly available journal workflow documentation. We have also been working to document pain points, gaps in workflow and infrastructure, and other practices surrounding journal publication.

One of the additional areas of interest is in author license agreements. The LPW team is interested in broadening our research beyond our 12 partners to gain a better understanding of how author licensing agreements fit into workflows, how rights and licenses are handled, and how these records are maintained.

We have assembled a brief 8-question form for library publishers to share a few key pieces of information about their typical author license agreements with the LPW team. Note: information collected via this form may be used anonymously in aggregate in project blog posts or deliverables.

We would really love to hear from you! Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

Best,
Brandon
