New US Area Code (472, 557) not supported

Hello,

We see area code 472, 557 is not supported.

Is there any plans to add support for these area codes in upcoming release?

Thank you for using libphonenumber!

1. NPA 472

As per NANPA, only 472-2XX are valid and we already support them see demo https://libphonenumber.appspot.com/phonenumberparser?number=%2B1+472+2xxxxxx

No other sub ranges in NPA 472 are assigned yet.

Note: 472-473 which went live recently will be added in our next release.

2. NPA 557

This complete range is already valid, see demo https://libphonenumber.appspot.com/phonenumberparser?number=%2B1+557+6xx+xxxx

If you have any specific prefix which you think is valid but not supported by our library. Please provide the details, we will look into it.

Couple of examples what we see is not working:

Both are valid numbers.

Hi,

1. 472-555

As mentioned earlier, only 472-2xx and 472-473 are currently valid under NPA 472 as per NANPA (official numbering authority).

The prefix you are trying is 472 555, this is still not valid.

We even tried dialling the number +14725551212 but we couldn't connect.

2. 557-555

Please prefix '+' before the number i.e +15575551212 or enter the default country as 'US' in the demo link. This is already supported.

Yes with prefix + 557 series works. We will verify our logic to check why its failing for us.
