Hello,

What is the latest recommended release for libnfs. I see that 2.0.0 is out on https://github.com/sahlberg/libnfs/releases.
Is that a stable recommended release or do you suggest some other release.

We are using libnfs to serve NFSv3. Currently we are on release 1.10.0 and looking to upgrade to a newer version. Hence the query.

Thanks,

Bharat

I see that NFSv4 support is just added to master, but there are references to NFSv4 in 2.2.0 release.
I am interested in upgrading to a latest stable NFSv3 code for now. Please suggest.

Hi,

If you only want to use NFSv3 then there is little reason for you to
upgrade from 1.10.0 except for bugfixes.

1.11.0 contains several bugfixes that affect NFSv3.

Post 1.11.0, most development focus on NFSv4 and testing, but there
are also some fixes that
affect NFSv3 as well. For example a crash in nfs_link(), double free
in rpc_free_pdu(),
fixes to interoperate with Ganesha servers, fixes for nfs_mknod(), ...

If you should upgrade from 1.10.0 or not is hard to say.
I would suggest you switch to 2.0 as it does provide a bunch of
bugfixes that could affect you.
However, if your current use-cases are not triggering any of those
bugs, then ...
