Hi,
Please consider the query below -
It seems,  the standard process to build the “libmodbus”  source code on Unix-like  platform  is –

1.       Sh autogen.sh

2.       ./configure

3.       Make

As I understand, The source code comes along with a file -  configure.ac   that contains   “macros”   which are

pre-processed by the   “./configure”   script on Unix-like  platform to generate  Config.h.in  and then  “Config.h”   file.

This “Config.h”  file, which is generated on-the-fly by the  ./configure  script,  is actually  included as a  header in source  code files.

As this file can be generated on Unix platform by the  “configure script” ( it is a part of Unix IDE),

Similarly,

Is there any way /utility available for Windows platform  to  generate  “config.h”   file  from  the  “configure.ac”  file ?

The libmodbus  latest  release -  stephane-libmodbus-v3.0.1-53-g6f1ed72  does not provide any  window /"visual studio solution" along with latest code version.

I need to create a new solution, for that  the  “config.h”  file-  for windows,  is required.

Can you please help in this regard.
Kindly reply.

Thanks,
Santosh.

Hi Santosh,

On Windows, you can use MinGW.

If you use the development version of libmodbus v3.1.0 and above, you can use the new Visual Studio project:

The library is embedded in my code. It works fine in my device, Linux PC or Mac.
When trying to compile for Windows/VS2013 I got 1 billions error in the WinSock2.h file.
Should I keep trying to deploy libmodbus on Windows or I'm wasting my time?
Thanks in advance

At which step does it stop to work? What is the error message you're
getting?
