Faking a bad CRC

I am trying to edit unit-test-server.c to send a response with a bad CRC.  I was thinking of using modbus_send_raw_request(), but manipulation of the CRC before the response is sent does not appear to be supported.  Does anyone know if this can be done, or is a patch required?

For what it's worth, I'm trying to test a client application that requests a large block of holding registers, but will request smaller blocks if a CRC error occurs.
