Trying to change slave id and read register

Hi,

     Am new to modbus implementation , i m trying the set the slave id as 2, and trying to read the input register but rtuen time out error, but when i try to read in default slave id i.e., 1, i can able to raed the actual output from register

Similarly when i issue the command modbus_get _Slaveid to reda the slave id it returns the compilation error wheras other functionalities are working, 

I need a simple modbus c program to read and write value from register and setting the slave id
