My library is starting up a circulating video game collection and I'm
wondering if online passes have influenced anyone's selection of video
games. It seems like more companies are requiring them for online play
and I'm concerned about patron response about potentially paying a fee
to enjoy the full content of a game.
Thanks for any input!

That is a valid concern. In addition, the rumors floating around right now (and to be fair, all they are are rumors) say that the successors to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 will lock out used game sales, perhaps by keying discs to a particular system.

We'll see, I guess. Kind of locks us out, too, if true.
