After National Gaming Day, our Library Director was very pleased with
the turnout and wants to continue events that are very similar (if not
the same) as NGD.

We normally run Game Days, which focus primarily on video games. We
want these new events to be focused on board games (with video games
still being included) and a more family friendly environment.

Does anyone have any suggestions on names for an event like this
without calling it "Game Day"?

How about something like "Family Games Day" or "Games and Activities
Day"?

The emphasis on "games" and "families" will surely clue people in that
more than just Wii and X-box will be available...

Or "Game Play Day" or "Family Game Play Day".

We use "Untuned Unplugged Game Day" for our board game-specific events.

We call ours "Games @ the Goodnight," which seems to work fairly well for
us.

I've taken a cue from Hasbro's brand and simply called ours "Family
Board Game Nite". Simple, direct and does what it says on the tin.

Carl.
